Accessibility Statement

Powerlete is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We want every customer to be able to browse, shop and check out with ease, whatever device or assistive technology they use. Accessibility is an ongoing priority, and we keep improving as standards and technology evolve.

Conformance status

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, hearing, motor and cognitive differences. We are working towards full conformance and review our site regularly. Where we know that something does not yet fully conform, we list it under Known limitations below.

What we do to keep the site accessible

Accessibility is built into how we design and develop our website. The measures we take include:

  • semantic HTML with clear landmarks and a logical heading order;
  • full keyboard support, with a visible focus indicator and no keyboard traps;
  • colour contrast that meets the AA thresholds, and never using colour alone to convey meaning;
  • text that resizes and reflows down to a 320 pixel wide screen without loss of content;
  • meaningful alternative text for images, and empty alt text for decorative images;
  • labelled form fields with clear, programmatically associated error messages;
  • respect for the reduce motion setting, so animation is reduced when you ask your device for it;
  • testing with keyboard only navigation and screen readers as part of our process.

Known limitations

Some content on our website is provided by third parties, for example customer reviews, embedded videos and social media feeds. We do not always control how accessible this content is, but we choose our partners carefully and raise issues with them when we find them. If you come across a barrier anywhere on our site, please tell us using the details below and we will help you get what you need.

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

Our website is designed to work with recent versions of the major browsers, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, and with assistive technologies such as screen readers, including VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA and JAWS, as well as browser zoom and text resizing. Using the latest version of your browser and assistive technology will give you the best experience.

Technical specifications

Accessibility of our website relies on the following technologies: HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS and JavaScript. The site is built to be robust and to degrade gracefully where one of these technologies is not supported.

Legal framework

In the United Kingdom we have regard to the Equality Act 2010. For customers in the European Union, we are working towards the requirements of the European Accessibility Act and the EN 301 549 standard. If you are not satisfied with how we have responded to your feedback, please let us know so that we can put things right.
